Identity
Madsan is a nano roastery and coffee lab based in South Jakarta, Indonesia. Founded in 2020, we started out with a unit of Ikawa Pro V3, focusing mainly on rare, exotic South American selections. We’re currently powered by a Diedrich IR-5, exploring an array of high quality green beans from local producers while maintaining the topnotch selections from Latin America and Africa.

Philosophy
We believe that specialty coffee is the best alternative towards sustainable practice. Coffee consumers enjoy greater satisfaction as they are paying a premium for high-quality coffee while the producers enjoy the fruit of their labour. Our focus is on optimising the sensory potential of our meticulous green bean selections. We work directly with farmers and trusted importers who have entrenched long-standing partnership with regional farmers all over the world.

Approach
Our roast profile is Scandinavian omni roast for versatility. This approach allows our you to simply brew our coffee however you like it. Our main objective is to unveil the distinctive characteristics and enhance the clarity of each origin and process. We roast in compact batches to ensure zero-waste. We want our coffee to be enjoyable and unforgettable at first sip. Ultimately, your satisfaction is our utmost priority.

Journey
Since the inception of Madsan, we had the opportunity to visit several coffee origins in Latin America, namely Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama and Ecuador. We've held public cupping sessions across Europe, in conjunction with the 2024 World of Coffee in Copenhagen, and Tokyo, Japan. During the 2025 World of Coffee in Jakarta, we hosted international guests to host public cupping and brewing pop-ups by several brewers cup champions at the roastery.

We are open to collaborations pertaining to public cupping and brewing pop-up at the roastery.
